Abstract


Opınıons Of Syrıan Secondary Students On The Problems Faced İn The Process Of Learnıng The Turkısh Language And Adaptatıon To Turkısh Culture
The aim of this research is to determine the problems experienced by Syrian secondary school students in learning Turkish language and adapting to Turkish culture in Çubuk district of Ankara. In the study, case study, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The study group of the research consists of 10 Syrian secondary school students who are included in the Accelerated Education Program (HEP), which is carried out in cooperation with the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning (LLL) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), in order to ensure that Syrian students under temporary protection who are out of the formal education system are included in the formal education system. The data of the research conducted were collected with semi-structured interview forms. Descriptive analysis was applied in the analysis of the qualitative data obtained with the student interview form. According to the findings obtained in the study, it is seen that some Syrian secondary school students have problems in learning grammar rules during the education process; it was concluded that some Syrian secondary school students did not have difficulty in learning the grammar rule. Based on the findings, some Syrian secondary school students stated that Turkish culture and Syrian culture were similar; it was determined that some Syrian secondary school students said that Turkish culture and Syrian culture do not differ. In order to overcome the adaptation problems experienced by Syrian secondary school students in learning the Turkish language and adapting to the Turkish culture, Syrian secondary school students should be included in courses such as handicrafts, drama, Turkish cuisine, which will contribute to their adaptation to Turkish culture, and students should be included in music, theater, folk dances and artistic activities. In addition, dictation work should be done with Syrian secondary school students, it is recommended that students see their mistakes and show correct spelling.
