Abstract


EXAMINING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE LEVELS OF CLASSROOM TEACHERS AND THEIR CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT STYLES
The research aimed to determine the emotional intelligence levels of classroom teachers, to determine the class management styles adopted, and to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and class management styles. For this purpose, the research was carried out with 231 class teachers working in primary schools in the Altındağ district of Ankara. Research data were collected with the Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale and Class Management Styles Scale. In addition, a personal information form consisting of seven questions was used to obtain the demographic data of the participants. In the analyzes based on the gender, marital status, educational level, graduated faculty type variables of class teachers, one-way variance analysis was used for the professional seniority, number of children owned, class size variables. In the research, the emotional intelligence level sensations of classroom teachers are high, the more oppressive and irrelevant class management style is adopted in class management, and the emotional intelligence level scale “Assessing Your Own Emotions” It has been concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between the sub-size and the class management style “Free”.
