Abstract


POLICIES FOR THE FAMILY, THE SMALLEST ECONOMIC UNIT
Despite the rapid changes in the political, social, economic, and cultural fields in the world with globalization, the family, the most fundamental institution of social life, continues to maintain its importance and existence. The family is the first socialization tool in which individuals are involved. The family, which is an important institution of society, has a lot of place in the economic institution. Households, which have a significant impact on consumption, contribute to the economy. The nuclear family, which is formed with the child's participation in the family, creates a new economic system. Every family exists with their traditions, values, beliefs, and cultures. The family institution develops its habits by keeping up with globalization with the developing information communication tools. In this study, which we set out with the motto "Family is the foundation of society"; family economy policies, the changes, transformations, and developments of the family from past to present have been examined. In this context; within the framework of the social state understanding, to control policies that have the potential to be harmful to families or whose consequences may be harmful, to resist situations that may adversely affect family and family members and especially children, to solve problems related to family relations, to improve families' self-help abilities and to replace family functions it has been concluded that taking measures to support the family or to support the family forms the basis of policies for households.
