Abstract


THE EFFECT OF TEACHERS' COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS' TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP FEATURES ON THE INTERGENERATIONAL CLIMATE
This research was conducted to examine the effects of communication skills and transformational leadership behaviors of school administrators on the intergenerational climate in the teaching environment according to teacher perceptions. In the quantitative research, the relational research model was used. The study group of the research consists of 454 teachers working at primary and secondary school levels in the 2020-2021 academic year. "Communication Skills Scale", "Transformational Leadership Scale" and "Intergenerational Climate Scale" were used as data collection tools in the research. Statistical methods such as number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation and multiple linear regression analyzes were used to analyze the data in the study according to the research questions. According to the findings, communication skills and transformational leadership (r=.33; p<0.01) communication skills and intergenerational climate (r=.13; p<0.01) transformational leadership and intergenerational climate (r=.13; p<0) ,01) was found to be significant in the positive direction. When the results were analyzed according to the regression significance, it was determined that communication skills (β=,105; p<05) and transformational leadership (β=,100; p<05) were significant predictors of intergenerational climate behaviors. School administrators; due to the fact that they exhibit transformational leadership characteristics and there are individuals from different generations in the school environment, these people should contribute to the formation of a higher level of positive organizational climate in the school.
