Özet
Urfa or Al-Ruha was a well-known saint city, located in Turkey. The Christian pilgrims from Mesopotamia, Persia and even from the Far East used to visit this holy city.
Most of Urfa’s population were Christians till the Islamic conquest when the number of Muslims started to increase all while the number of Christians decreased.
The Ottoman State had done its duties toward the Christian, and Jewish religious minorities as stated in Islam.
The Ottoman State had taken care of all its citizens in Urfa when it came to science, health and living aspects regardless of their religion; the state opened schools, allowed the construction of churches and treated all of its citizens equally.
