Özet
Ziel der vorliegenden Studie ist es, den Motivationsstand der Schülerinnen und Schüler beim Lernen des Deutschen als zweite Fremdsprache geschlechtsspezifisch zu untersuchen. Diese empirische Studie umfasst eine quantitative Untersuchung. Sie wurde im Schuljahr 20014-2015 mit den Schülerinnen (N=39) und Schülern (N=33) aus 10. Klasse (insgesamt 72 Probanden) von einer gymnasialen Oberschule aus Adana / Türkei durchgeführt. Als Datenerhebungsinstrument wurde der für diese Arbeit adaptierte Fragebogen von Thomas & Müller verwendet. Die Reliabilität der türkischen Version der Skala wurde nach der Methode der internen Konsistenz nochmal geprüft. Nach der statistischen Analyse lag der Chronbachs Alphawert der Skala oberhalb der Reliabilitätsgrenze von 0,70. Bei der Analyse der erhobenen Daten wurden zunächst die arithmetischen Mittelwerte von einzelnen Faktoren (Motivationstypen) und gesamten Items des Fragebogens geschlechtsspezifisch gerechnet. Als nächster Schritt wurde t-Test für die unabhängigen Stichproben verwendet, um zu sehen, ob es zwischen diesen Mittelwerte statistisch signifikante Unterschiede bestehen. Die Ergebnisse zeigten, dass die Werte der Schülerinnen höher sind als die Werte der Schüler. Und bei der t-Test Analyse war es ersichtlich, dass eine statistisch signifikante Differenzierung zwischen den Gesamtmittelwerte beider Gruppen besteht.

Abstract
The aim of the present study is to investigate the motivationslevel of the students in learning the German as a second foreign language by gender. This empirical study includes a quantitative study. It was carried out with the students (girls N = 39 and boys N = 33# a total of 72 probands) from 10th grade of an anatolian high school from Adana / Turkey in the school year 20014-2015. The questionnaire by Thomas & Müller was used as data collection instrument adapted for this work. The reliability of the Turkish version of the scale was tested by the method of internal consistency again. After the statistical analysis was the Chronbach’s Alpha value of the scale above the border of reliability 0.70. In the analysis of the data collected were first calculated the arithmetic mean values of each factors (motivation types) and total Items of the questionnaire by gender. As the next step t-test for independent samples was used to see if there are statistically significant differences between these mean values. The results showed that the values of girls are higher than the values of boys. And in the analysis of t-test it was evident that a statistically significant differentiation between the overall mean values of the two groups consists.
