Özet
Bulgaristan Cumhuriyeti, Asya ve Avrupa arasında bir kavşak noktasında yer alıp, farklı dillerin, dinlerin ve kültürlerin harmanlandığı yer olmuştur. Bulgaristan’ın verimli topraklara sahip olması, antik çağlardan günümüze kadar olan süreçte yerleşme yeri olarak tercih edilmesinde önemli etkiye sahiptir. Balkan ve Karadeniz ülkesi olan Bulgaristan Cumhuriyeti, Türkiye jeopolitiği açısından önem arz eden bu ülke ile ilgili çalışmaların sayısı oldukça azdır. Ülkenin nüfus yapısını değerlendirildiğinde, doğum ve ölüm oranlarının düşük olduğu ve giderek artan yaşlı nüfus oranı ile gelişmiş ülkelerin demografik yapısına benzerlik gösterdiği bilgisiyle karşılaşılmıştır. Bu çalışmada; ülkenin geçmişten günümüze kadar olan süreçte demografik değişimleri incelenmiş, Avrupa İstatistik Ofisi ve Ulusal İstatistik Enstitüsü (NSIB) verilerinden yararlanılarak gelecek 2025 ve 2050 nüfus projeksiyonları hakkında değerlendirmelerde bulunulmuştur. Çalışmada dünyada nüfusu en hızlı biçimde azalan ülke olduğu tespit edilen Bulgaristan’ın aktif nüfusundaki düşmenin, sosyal ve ekonomik anlamda önemli etkiye sahip olacağı da aşikârdır. Çalışma sahasının odak noktasını oluşturan ülkenin nüfus değişimi, istatistiksel veri setleri ile oluşturulmuş, Sonraki aşamada verilerin daha net yorumlanması için tablo ve grafiklerle amaca uygun hale getirilmiştir. Bulgaristan nüfus dağılışını gösteren harita ise Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri programları kullanılarak hazırlanmıştır. Bulgaristan nüfusunun 2025 yılı ve 2050 nüfus projeksiyonları değerlendirildiğinde, toplam nüfusun bahsi geçen yıllarda giderek azalacağı karşılaşılmış, toplam nüfus içinde yaşlı nüfus oranının artacağı ve aktif nüfusun azalacağı tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract
SUMMARY
The Republic of Bulgaria is located at the crossroads between Asia and Europe, and has been a place where different languages, religions and cultures are blended. The fact that Bulgaria has fertile lands has an important effect on its being preferred as a settlement in the process from ancient times to the present. The Republic of Bulgaria, a Balkan and Black Sea country, the number of studies on this country, which is important in terms of Turkey's geopolitics, is very few. When the population structure of the country is evaluated, it has been encountered that the birth and death rates are low and the elderly population ratio is increasing and it is similar to the demographic structure of developed countries.In this study; The demographic changes of the country from past to present were examined, and evaluations were made about the future 2025 and 2050 population projections by using Eurostat and National Statistical Institute (NSIB) data. It is obvious that the decrease in the active population of Bulgaria, which was determined to be the country with the fastest decline in the world in the study, will have a significant social and economic impact. The population change of the country, which is the focal point of the study area, was created with statistical data sets, and in the next stage, it was made appropriate with tables and graphs for a clearer interpretation of the data. The map showing the population distribution of Bulgaria was prepared using Geographic Information Systems programs.When the 2025 and 2050 population projections of the Bulgarian population are evaluated, it is observed that the total population will gradually decrease in the mentioned years, the proportion of the elderly population in the total population will increase and the active population will decrease.
