Özet
The current research aims to identify the nature of the relationship between rational judgment and self-efficacy in light of the variables (title-years of service - gender) among the teachers of the College of Arts and Media/University of Kirkuk (comparative study). The researcher prepared the rational judgment scale according to Sternberg's theory (1990), and the self-efficacy scale according to Bandura's theory (1995). To achieve the research objectives and hypotheses, the psychometric properties of the two scales (validity, reliability and discriminatory power) were extracted. It was applied to the basic research sample that was randomly selected from the College of Arts and the College of Media at the University of Kirkuk, where the number reached (141), with (101) male lecturers and (49) female lecturers distributed in the two colleges. Statistical methods were used )T-value for one sample and two independent samples, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha, analysis of variance, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation) The following results were obtained:
- Faculty members in the Faculties of Arts and Media are characterized by a (high) degree of rational judgment and self-efficacy.
- There was no difference between academic titles on the Rational Judgment Scale among faculty members in the College of Arts, and a difference among faculty members in the College of Media.
- There was a difference between years of service on the Rational Judgment Scale among faculty members in the Colleges of Arts and Media.
- There was no difference between academic titles on the rational judgment scale among faculty members in the College of Arts, and its presence among faculty members in the College of Media.
- There was a significant difference between males and females on the rational judgment scale, in favor of males in both colleges.
- There was a difference between academic titles on the self-efficacy scale among faculty members in both colleges.
- There was a difference in years of service on the self-efficacy scale among faculty members in both colleges.
- There is a significant difference between males and females in self-efficacy, in favor of males in both colleges.
- There is a direct correlation between rational judgment and self-efficacy among faculty members in the Colleges of Arts and Media at the University of Kirkuk.
- There is no difference between academic title in rational judgment and self-efficacy among faculty members in the College of Arts, while there is a difference among faculty members in the College of Media.
- There was no difference between years of service on the scale of mental judgment and self-efficacy among faculty members in the College of Arts, while there was a difference among faculty members in the College of Media.
- There was a significant difference between males and females on the scales of mental judgment and self-efficacy, favoring males in both colleges.
In light of the research findings, the study produced a set of recommendations and proposals.
