Abstract


THE ROLE OF INTEREST-FREE PRIVATE PENSION SYSTEM IN INCREASING THE RATE OF DOMESTIC SAVING IN TURKEY
The role of investments is crucial for countries to achieve a sustainable growth trend. The resources required for the financing of the investments to be made are provided from domestic and foreign sources. Especially in terms of developing countries, making investments with domestic savings is very important for economies to be efficient and sustainable. Least -developing and developing countries provide the resources they need for investment from foreign sources if the domestic savings are inadequate, which causes the current account deficit of the country, deterioration of the balance of payments, difficulty in finding sources, borrowing with high interest and if the foreign capital leaves the country, it causes the economic fragility in the economics. The State implements a number of incentives to protect against such negative effects and to increase the domestic savings rate. In this study, it is discussed the importance of domestic saving rates in terms of developing countries, the incentives applied to increase the domestic savings rate in Turkey, the importance and potential role of private pension and automatic participatory private pension system and especially the importance and potential role of the interest-free private pension system in raising the domestic savings rate has been examined.
