Abstract


THE EVALUATION WITH GEOGRAPHICAL METHODS IN TERMS OF USAGE OF COAST TO THE INSTANCE OF MALTEPE COASTAL PARK (ISTANBUL)
Coastal areas, attracted the attention of people throughout history, nowadays these places are geographical features of residential potential and a lot of human activity is concentrated mainly in the fields. The coastal land ecosystems interactions with the sea are due to human activities that are focused on the dynamic structure next to always change of fields. Nowadays, human-induced changes in coastal unloading operations fill activities occur. Available to fill the banks activities, coastal area, while new fields new fields of use also. However, changing the structure of the coast and coastal fill fields some risks, environmental issues affect coastal ecosystems due to pretty much create. In Istanbul in recent years due to intense human pressures are experiencing changes in the shoreline and coastal fill activities concentrated in places. In this study, Maltepe coastal park was evaluated in terms of the usega of the coastal which shore filling activities the largest of the Anatolian sie of Istanbul. During the evaluation phase of geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing (RS) techniques, SWOT analysis, geographical impact assessment methods. The result of the evaluation made by the geographic perspective, Maltepe İstanbul Anatolian side of the coastal park, a large green space, sports, recreation and social-cultural fields was seen in contributions. The people of these areas and the shore and onshore environmental approaches is the use of other positive features of the park. However, the proximity of the fault lines of the coastal park of Maltepe, liquefaction and other environmental issues and the potential collapse of the negative features.
