Abstract


THE VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF TURKISH VERSION OF THE ATTITUDES TOWARD VIOLENCE SCALE
The aim of this study is to examine validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Attitudes toward Violence Scale (Davidson & Canivez, 2012). The participant of this study consisted of 251 undergraduate students. The results of confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the 17 items loaded on three factors (crime and war, corporal punishment, partner violence; x²= 299.89, df= 116, RMSEA= .080, CFI= .93, IFI= .93, SRMR=.087). The internal consistency reliability coefficients were .73 for crime and war subscale, .75 for corporal punishment subscale, .81 for partner violence subscale, .83 for overall scale. Findings, demonstrated that this scale had convenient validity and reliability scores.
