Abstract

KRİZ YÖNETİMİ SÜRECİNE İLİŞKİN OKUL MÜDÜRLERİNİN GÖRÜŞLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ
The aim of this research is to examine the crisis management behaviors of school principals who are administrators in secondary school. In the research, first of all, their general views on the crisis processes were taken and then their views on the causes of the crises were taken. The research was designed in a phenomenological pattern. The study group of the research consists of 15 school administrators working in secondary school in Adıyaman province in 2021-2022. Criterion sampling technique was used to determine the study group. The main criterion in determining the participants to be included in the sample is that the school administrator has experienced a crisis before and has been in the crisis management process. Research data were collected with a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. In the analysis of the data, content analysis and descriptive analysis techniques were used together. In line with the data obtained from the research, it was seen that school administrators defined crisis situations as a process that disrupts the education-teaching process and causes uneasiness in the school. It has been observed that while defining their own roles and responsibilities during the crisis, they mostly act within the framework of regulations. It was observed that while defining the stakeholders they cooperate with in crisis situations, they stated that they cooperated with different institutions and organizations in line with the nature of the crisis, but that one of the main stakeholders was the parents. They evaluated the factors that complicate and facilitate the crisis management process within the scope of in-school and out-of-school elements. In addition, while the administrators define the negative effects of crisis situations on their schools, they emphasize the negative effects of organizational structure and culture, and stress on students, teachers and parents; While talking about its positive effects, they emphasized that it allows the organizational innovation process.
