This study, aiming to analyze petition writing skills of associate degree students, was carried out with 150 second graders studying at “Office Management and Executive Assistant Training”, “Journalism” and “Logistics” departments of a vocational school at a state university. The study was in survey model, and the data were analyzed through document review among qualitative research techniques. The students’ petitions were analyzed using Petition Writing Rubric developed by Özçakmak (2017). As a result of the study, it was found that mean petition writing score of the students was 13,13 and this was proportionately 65,7%. It was revealed that the students made mistakes mainly in writing address and contact information and page layout; they made the least mistakes in expressing request and using “common closing phrases”. The most successful department in writing petition was Office Management and Executive Assistant Training, and the least successful department was logistics.
