EXAMINATION OF STUDIES ON MUZAFFER IZGU ACCORDING TO SPECIFIC CRITERIA
Children’s literature is a process that begins with the child’s encounter with books from birth andcontinues for a certain period of time. Introducing the child to quality literary works during this process fosters a love of reading and helps them develop a lifelong reading habit. The bond between a child and a book can be established through the selection of works that appeal to the child’s world. This study aims to examine the research conducted on Muzaffer İzgü, one of the prominent authors of children’s literature, based on specific criteria such as the subject of the study, the university where it was prepared, its distribution by year, number of authors, type of study, department in which it was conducted, and the most frequently analyzed works.The sample of this study, which was conducted through document analysis, consists of a total of 40 studies: 25 master’s theses, 1 doctoral dissertation, and 14 research articles. These studies were examined within the framework of specific criteria. The data of the study were analyzed using content analysis, and the resulting categories were presented through tables and graphs using frequency and percentage values. In studies focusing on Muzaffer İzgü, who has been the subject of numerous research works through his literary contributions, the subject areas of the studies were examined, and it was found that the most frequently studied topics were education and children’s literature, each accounting for 27.2% of the total. When the types of studies were examined, it was observed that master’s theses ranked first with 62%. The year in which the highest number of studies were conducted was 2022, with a total of 8 studies. In terms of academic departments, the Department of Turkish Language Education was the most common field, with 23 studies (57.5%) conducted in this area. When the studies were examined in terms of the number of authors, it was found that 35 of them (87.5%) were single-authored. The universities where the studies were conducted were also analyzed, and Mersin University ranked first with 4 studies.
